Help for Haiti!

@JustMelody January 13, 2010 The Fix 3 Comments

By now you should have heard about the tragic earthquake that has ravaged the island of Haiti.

This is a time for us, as humans, to help those that are in need.

Here is the latest update via MSNBC:

Facing a second night on the streets, dazed earthquake survivors wandered past dead bodies Wednesday, crying for loved ones or seeking help. Officials feared the death toll could reach the tens of thousands.

Death was everywhere in this devastated city of 2 million. Bodies of tiny children were piled next to schools. Corpses of women lay on the street with stunned expressions frozen on their faces as flies began to gather. Bodies of men were covered with plastic tarps or cotton sheets.

Moreover, untold numbers were still trapped after the magnitude-7 earthquake Tuesday crushed thousands of structures — from schools and shacks to the local U.N. headquarters and the National Palace, where a dome tilted ominously above the manicured grounds.

Here are ways that you can help the people of Haiti:

To donate $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund text “Yele” to 501501 or by visiting Yele.org.

To donate $10 to Red Cross Haiti Relief text “Haiti” to 90999.

Or visit CNN list of other agencies and ways to help HERE.

thanks for finally posting this up
not to say that other stories arent important
but i just wanted you and all the readers to understand
the importance of having compassion and caring for those
even if they are not living in the usa
this a time to recognize and realize that god is real
and in the end we answer to him
this is our testimony of how his mercy has been on us
and we must do our part in inspiring and supporting
each other whether it be through education, prayer, or acknowledgement of one another

    thanks for posting this up
i was upset yesterday of how people like tmz
was too busy chasing stories about what celebrities ate and who they hang out with
instead of caring of those in need, even if we cant help financially
we can still educate, pray and encourage others to do so
and to be grateful for what we have even when it seems to be very little
