This Is It Opens Big! A Must See…

If you haven’t seen Michael Jackson’s This Is It, then get your tickets, grab a friend or two and head to the theater. Even if you are not a stan, you will enjoy the behind the scenes look at the tour that would have been history making.
According to the L.A. Times, executives at several studios who have been tracking the returns, the new Michael Jackson documentary is likely to sell $10 million to $12 million worth of tickets domestically opening day.
I took my son, who is such a Michael Jackson fan too, and we enjoyed every minute of it. It showed a lot of Michael Jackson’s personality that we haven’t seen in decades. The amount of energy and planning that went into designing the tour was so extensive. It was great to see how detailed Michael was about everything. You could tell he just wanted everything to be perfect. Not for him, but for his fans.
The dancers and musicians were amazing, you could tell how overwhelmed they were at just working with him. Randomly, Mekia Cox, who plays Dixon’s girlfriend on 90210 was a principal dancer for the tour.
The music was also a key part of the movie… Vocally there were times where he seemed to be trying to reserve is voice but he still had great range and that falsetto that he is famous for was still very much there.
I think the best part of the show, other than his sparkly pants and jackets, but just the love [a word you will hear a lot] that he had. I honestly feel like he was going to push through the show no matter what! His passion for the art was what you saw on the screen.
I recommend the film for everyone, even if you are not the super fan, you will get to see a side of him that you may have never seen and a glimpse of the tour that never got to happen…

I saw it last weekend, and I was nothing short of mesmerized. I am a relatively young MJ fan (21 years old in December), and there I was, singing along in the movie theater to the old school songs like it was nobody’s business. I didn’t get to see him in concert, so this was a big deal for me. I enjoyed the movie so much, and it did him justice. I got to see MJ at his best (…or at least half-best, considering it was rehearsal footage). At the end of the day, despite all he’s been through, MJ was still an excellent entertainer, and he will be greatly missed.
Overall, the movie was OFF THE HOOK!!!
