Marlon Wayans to take on Richard Pryor!

Posted on October 8th, 2009 by by Melody

Marlon Wayans has bumped Eddie Murphy to take the lead in the Richard Pryor biopic Richard Pryor: Is it Something I Said being produced by Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Prods. and Sony Pictures. This film was written by Dreamgirls‘ Bill Condon, who will also direct.

While Eddie Murphy was originally tapped for the role, he dropped out after running into issues with the initial financier for the project, Paramount Films.

Sources tell EW.com that Wayans fought for the role, blowing the producers away with a 13- min screen test where he “transforms into Pryor.”

The film is also slated to list Chris Rock, Pryor’s widow Jennifer Lee Pryor and Mark Gordon as producers.

Could Marlon pull a Jamie Foxx on us!?

What’s good Jay!

Marlon is funny, and for some reason I really think this could be his breakout role. He could really take off in movie if this is a homerun!

Hope this is true. Bill Condon was alson the named tapped to The Aaliyah movie that wasn’t.
If it is Marlon Wayans will be great. He’s a great dramatic actor (addict in critically acclaimed “Requiem for a Dream” ) showed that.
