Mariah Carey: “I let everybody down…”

On the “Today” show this morning, Mariah Carey described how hard it was for her to sing her cover of the Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There,” and how seeing the casket made it difficult for her to get through the performance. “I feel a little bit like I let everybody down, but I really did try and it was difficult,” she said. “But you know what I think? It was a true and honest emotional moment.”
During the memorial I kept telling my self I wasn’t going to say anything negative… Honestly her performance was rocky at best, but did we really expect something different? We all know Mariah’s voice as of late has been no match to her “Visions of Love” days. However, it was in honor of Michael Jackson and for that… you get a pass.
I think I was surprised most by Jermaine Jackson’s performance. I know that meant so much to him.

I guess she gets a pass…a pass and a friggin glance. Mariah knows she killed her voice with all the high pitched runs she’s been doing over the years. When I seen her come on stage I said a silent prayer that she at least took time out to warm up her voice seeing how they were 30 minutes late. But she didn’t and her beginning was not the best. Her saying she was shook up over the casket only made people give her a slice of sympathy pie.
