There are so many stories surrounding the death of Michael Jackson, it’s impossible to cover them all, but I’ll try to keep us up-to-date on the most relevant issues.
The doctor who has become the center of his death investigation (not a criminal investigation) voluntarily spoke to LADP and has responded through his lawyers that he prescribed potentially harmful medications to Michael Jackson.
Edward Chernoff said that any drugs that Dr. Conrad Murray gave Jackson were prescribed in response to a specific complaint from Jackson.
“Dr. Murray has never prescribed nor administered Demerol to Michael Jackson,” Chernoff said. “Not ever. Not that day. … Not Oxycontin (either) for that matter.”
Chernoff, also on TODAY, said he didn’t think that his client was “ready for this kind of attack” on his credentials and actions in the case. But he said that “it’s expected, considering the circumstances.”
Once the full investigation is complete, Chernoff said, he expected Murray would be exonerated and the family would feel differently.
Jackson still had a faint pulse and a warm body when Murray found him in bed and not breathing Thursday afternoon, Chernoff said in the AP interview.
Chernoff said Murray was at the pop icon’s rented mansion when he discovered Jackson in bed and not breathing. The doctor immediately began administering CPR, Chernoff said.
“He just happened to find him in his bed, and he wasn’t breathing,” the lawyer said. “Mr. Jackson was still warm and had a pulse.”
A second private autopsy has been requested by the family. Reports from the NY Post, say that his body was “riddled with needle marks and scars, and his head was virtually bald” and was 112 pounds according to the London Sun. His stomache was virtually empty other than partial dissolved pills. This could very well be a sick rumor though…
While Michael Jackson’s body have been moved to the LA Coroner’s office, the Jackson family is moving forward with taking control of his estate, starting with the children. Katherine Jackson, has filed for custody of his three children, Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., known as Prince Michael, 12; Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, 11; and Prince Michael II, 7.
The guardianship papers were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday. A hearing has been set for Aug 3.
Lastly, there are also reports that the boy involved in the 2003 molestation case, Evan Chadler, has recanted his story admitting that he lied for the money. No major news source has reported this, however I don’t doubt it. Just keeping you abreast of the stories.
