I just saw this on Oprah this week and damn near cried… Based on the novel, Push by Sapphire, Precious tells the story of Clareece “Precious” Jones is an overweight, illiterate African-American teen in Harlem. Just as she’s about to give birth to her second child, Jones is accepted into an alternative school where a teacher helps her find a new path in her life.
Precious, backed by Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey after rave reviews at the film festivals, stars Mo’Nique, Paula Patton, Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz, and Sherri Shepherd.
In theaters November 6th!!
Great trailer, nearly made me cry too. Just hoping it comes out here in the UK.
They definitely managed to make Mariah look different…I had to look twice to see if it was really here.
