Comparisons, Comparisons…

LeToya Lutckett talks to Honey Magazine about those pesky comparisons… which she seems to brush off and keep it going.
There have been a few comparisons to Solange’s videos “I Decided” and “Sandcastle Disco.” Now I know you girls are friends — were you inspired at all by her throwback style these days?
Actually, the treatment was created by Bryan Barber and the reason that I picked his was because it was very different from the others. It showcased me more in a positive light then sad, Woe-is-me. Oh, he-did-me-wrong. At the same time, I think that Solange is a very talented. I love how creative she’s been with everything. She’s stepping out and doing her own thing and I’m very proud of her.People have been comparing female R&B artists all over the blogs lately — like Beyonce and Ciara, Rihanna versus Keri Hilson. How do you manage to stay in your own lane?
I think that there’s always going to be comparisons. All you can try to do is create your own thing. We’re women, so we all have a lot in common. We can only talk about a couple of things: love, relationships, how he did me wrong, he did me right, or I love him. A lot of us are sisters, but people are going to talk. You can’t control that.
I love how LeToya seems to keep it positive and doesn complain about the Destiny Child drama. She could easily get attention by talk ish or threating a tell all! Most former group members have a serious chip on their sholders.
