Dawn Richard knows a little something about hanging in the fight. Losing everything in Hurricane Katrina could have deterred Dawn from her dreams of singing, yet kept going. So when Diddy shocked the MTV world by “firing” Aubrey – and subsequently D. Woods – from Danity Kane, Dawn kept in the fight and hasn’t let this new set back stop her stride.

A year ago this time, I talked to Dawn about Danity Kane’s new sophomore  album, Welcome to the Dollhouse, the upcoming tour and what would be next for the group. Much has happened in that year, most of which wasn’t what was expected. So as the new season of MTV’s “Making the Band” 4 has kicked off, and the future of Danity Kane as a group is still very much questionable, Dawn remains in the fight for what she loves. Music.

While her singing career may be at a turning point, Dawn is excited about her new comic venture DanityKaneComics.com and writing for Bad Boy’s Cassie and Diddy. Plus she answers fan questions about going solo, her man Que, and working with Diddy…

I am a DK fan. I loved their recent album, and I think they are all truly talented. I think they would have had major success under another label/management. With that being said, I don’t see any solo success for any of them. I wish they would get their ish together!
