Miss Badu… Where are you?
I was thinking the other day… where is Erykah Badu? Awating the birth of her third child, she’s been pretty low key lately. So when reader David asked me to hook him up with a Badu fix I had to find out what she’s been up to.
According to BlackVoices, Erykah Badu has landed a leading role opposite Mos Def in the indie film, ‘Bobby Zero’. Mos Def will play the romantic lead in the story of a down-on-his-luck social satirist who gives up his artistic aspirations to work at an advertising agency.
The talented bohemian and his agoraphobic girlfriend hit rock bottom after years of struggling as a couple. To make ends meet, Bobby goes corporate with the advertising job and is confronted by his past beliefs, stepping outside the box and discovering that there the world is not what he expected.
The film is set to begin filming in 2009 after Miss Badu’s maternity time off.
While Erykah is probably one of the coolest moms a kid could ask for, she’s also a holistic mom and a strict vegan.
I do holistic healing and health. I’m in the process of getting my license for holistic consultation and prescribing. I grow my own herbs, dry them and bottle them. I’m learning from trial and error as I go along. With my first child I made some mistakes with the holistic stuff. Puma my daughter she’s my second child, they’re both vegan vegetarians, organic babies from birth, natural births at home. I guess I’ve grown into being a vegan vegetarian. If you are looking for her next album, she goes on to say “it’s coming” but she is juggling motherhood and other projects but that she appreciates the anticipation of her fans.
