While I love Ellen DeGeneres, I didn’t really love her on American Idol… I thought after Simon left, it would release that tension but it looks like we’ll never know since Ellen is jumping from the sinking ship!
According to numerous reports, Fox confirms that American Idol is down one more judge.
In a news release, DeGeneres said she told the producers a couple of months ago that the show "didn’t feel like the right fit for me," partly because of increased work commitments elsewhere, including her popular daytime talk show.
Word is Kara Dioguardi isn’t locked in either. I knew this would happen. You really can “replace” Simon and the show’s format lost it’s luster a long time ago. I’ll be surprised if it gets any ratings this year, let alone makes it to air this. They should have just bowed out with Simon last season.
YAS! Our favorite girlfriend, Tracee Ellis Ross, is set to return to the small screen, as BET — holding my mule — has greenlit a new pilot titled “Reed Between the Lines.”
Tracee has teamed up with writer Kellie Griffin for the project, which is said to begin production August 11th in Atlanta.
Tracee will play Dr. Carla Reed, a psychiatrist who has to juggle being a wife and a mom with her thriving career. This pilot is the latest announcement in BET’s rededication to original scripted series.
This show will join the Queen Latifah-produced series “Let’s Stay Together” and ”The Game” in the fall.
President Barack Obama made history by being the first sitting president to visit a daytime talkshow, taking a seat with the ladies of The View.
Asked to pick a “rose and thorn” for the month, the president picked as his highlight a family vacation to Maine with daughters Malia, 12, and Sasha, 9. He goes on to discuss race, education, jobs, and Afghanistan. He even knows that Lindsay Lohan is in jail, but he doesn’t know who Snooki is. That is probably best!
Even I don’t agree with everything, I love my President Obama!
UPDATE: Sadly Lorenzen Wright’s body was found in Southeast Memphis, according to WMCTV.com.
Investigators discovered the body of missing Memphis basketball star Lorenzen Wright in Southeast Memphis Wednesday.
Wright’s body was found in a wooded area adjacent to the Fieldstone apartment complex off Hacks Cross and Winchester Roads. He had been missing for more than a week.
News of the discovery spread quickly and crowds of Wright’s friends from both on and off the court steadily grew.
Wright’s mother, Deborah Marion, arrived at the scene Wednesday night with a handful of family members. She crossed the crime scene tape and tried to talk to police when she was told to move back. She sat in a TV van before returning to the tape. Two officers then let her through.
The distraught Marion then started running down the road toward the crime scene before being stopped by an officer. She spoke with officers, then walked back past reporters without speaking straight to a van.
