Alicia Keys. Swizz Beatz. Together.

Posted on March 16th, 2010 by by Melody

On the red carpet. In public.

That right, now that Swizzy’s divorce is finalized, the couple are taking their not-so-secret relationship public. The couple walked the red carpet at the Gotham Magazine Annual Gala in NYC, which was also hosted by A. Keys.

I’m not sure how I feel about these two just yet but they seem to be absolutely smitten with each other. However, not everyone has kind feelings toward the couple seeing that they were spotted together not too far after his messy divorce was initiated…

Either neither… their here and all smiles!

For Lloyd it’s his first single as a new signee to Interscope Records and for Mystikal it’s his official return to the airwaves… Together the New Orleans natives bring the the track called “Set Me Free.” It definitely has a New Orleans feel with the horns and Mystikal goes in like he never left.

On Set: Drake’s First Video as… Drake

Posted on March 16th, 2010 by by Melody

Forget all the other videos… the video for his first official single “Over,”  will be Drake’s first video to introduce “Drake the Artist” as he explains on the set in L.A. this weekend.

The video was directed by Anthony Mandler, who’s worked with Mary J. Blige, Jay Z, and Rihanna…

The song “Over” touches on Drake reaction to fame and stardom. ” ‘Over’ was definitely a choice of mine,” he said of releasing it as a single. “I’ve got a lot of great songs on the album. A lot of songs that sound familiar but are brand-new. I still got the same emotions of the songs you love, whether it be ‘Say Something’ or ‘Best I Ever Had’ or ‘Bedrock.’ For people who enjoy what I’ve done in the past, I’ve got a lot of songs to cater to them. But ‘Over’ was a song I did for myself.

“We took a trip to Jamaica, where I did a lot of work for my album,” he elaborated. “There was this calm before the storm, and ‘Over’ represented the storm to me. It’s the moment. I wanted to emerge at first from this album and just let people know ‘This is how I’m coming out in the public eye. I’m ready for anything.’ Then when you get the album, it’s like, ‘Oh, he’s still human. He’s still thinking the same way.’ I wanted people to understand I could have lost it. ‘Over’ could have been my entire album. Just ’cause that’s what this industry and game will do to you if you lose yourself.” [MTV]

His debut, Thank Me Later, drops March 30th!!

In Case You Missed It: Stacey on Wendy

Posted on March 13th, 2010 by by Melody

Stacey Dash dropped in on the Wendy Williams Show to talk about stepping out with Jamie Foxx.

I wasn’t that surprised when I saw Stacey Dash on the red carpet with Jamie Foxx of the post-Oscar parties because I heard her on the Foxxhole… they played the radio show 72 times that weekend.

On the Foxxhole she also talks about never being single, letting her husbands get it on the first date and a reality show about being on her own in the works… Did you know that she was Damon Dash’ cousin as well?

Stacey is still looking fab at 40-something but don’t look for her to be Jamie’s permanent boo… I can’t see that happening.

Monica and Rocko Split…

Posted on March 11th, 2010 by by Melody

Shaq and Shaunie settle… Swizz Beatz talks about divorcing Mashonda… Unfortunately, today Monica announced that she and Rocko are on the road to splitsville too.

I hate to see a family break up, but from what we watch on her reality show, Monica and Rocko seem like the kind to work it out and remain family. Their sons are the most adorable little men too…
